KINGS CHURCH – BUDERIM
The Kings Church Function Centre located in Buderim provides the church with office space coupled with a large function centre. The function centre provides a column free area that is some 38m wide x 48m long. To limit the steel tonnage we proposed to span the area with a series of fabricated roof trusses. The building is braced via roof plane and K Brace wall panels. Numerous architecturally rich components make up the entire structure including the entrance foyer with its double storey glazed wall and glazed skylights. Economical use of steel was adopted throughout the building.
CORAL COVE APARTMENTS – BOWEN
Located on Horshoe Bay, Bowen, Coral Cove Appartments are a 6 storey blockwork and suspended floor slab structure. The local geology consisted of massive boulder formations across the site which presented numerous challenges for the construction. Working closely with the builder we detailed a series of pad and saddle like foundations under the building which greatly reduced the amount of rock excavation across the site saving considerable construction time and money for our client.
Peregian Boardwalk comprises a mixed use development with Residential Apartments constructed over Commercial occupancies. The entire footprint of the site is occupied by a basement carpark with a podium level slab built over to support the above ground construction.
Challenges for the project included retention of the ground and structures neighbouring the site and accommodating thefall across the site within the podium slabs construction. We provided detailed construction documentation for the podium which nominated surface and soffit levels at all grade change points. This was vital for the builder in constructing his formwork and ultimately the podium.
MATLOW PLACE – COOLUM BEACH
Matlow Place in Coolum consists of a multi-level commercial development which has 2 levels of basement carparking. The basement is submerged some 4m below the water table.
We provided our client with structural documentation for a water tight basement together with detailed documentation for the maangement of the site throughout the construction process.
